Waste
RESEARCH LOCAL WASTE SITES
I will spend 2 minutes finding out where landfills and/or toxic waste sites are situated in my region and which communities are most impacted by these sites.
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
I will find out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in recycling dumpsters or my curbside bin.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 6 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Health
Support Pollution Reduction
I will spend at least 3 minutes learning about water and air quality issues in my area, how they are impacting human and environmental health, and how I can help.
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 133 lbs of CO2 a month and 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Waste
battery recycling
properly disposing batters throughout your campus, and having the proper people/ tools to make sure your recycling the batter's properly
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
