William Bechtel 4/21/2023 4:26 AMToday’s the last day. How did you do?-
Kelli Group 4/21/2023 10:37 AMI think I did alright. Hopefully some of my intentional efforts have become automatic ones. -
Brennen Dickerson 4/21/2023 8:11 AMI did pretty well, I'd say. I've been a lot more intentional about certain things over these few weeks.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Find Local Recycling DepotsOur ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?
William Bechtel 4/17/2023 11:46 AMIn many cases it is necessary to pay to recycle these item. But, to me, it’s worth it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Tour A Waste Management FacilityField trip! What a fun way to learn about our impact and consumption! What facility did you tour? What did you learn?
William Bechtel 4/17/2023 11:45 AMI toured the landfill near Newville. I was surprised at just how big it is. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste RESEARCH LOCAL WASTE SITESIn what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?
William Bechtel 4/17/2023 11:44 AMThe closest lane fill to here is near Newville. The odor from it can be noticeable in the area near it. Methane is produced and water can be contaminated from it. Keeping items out of the landfill helps a lot. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Personal Waste AuditWhy is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?
William Bechtel 4/17/2023 11:42 AMMilosz people are so separated from the production of goods that they never even consider the impacts. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Use an Energy MeterHow can you make your dorm room, apartment, or house more energy efficient?
William Bechtel 4/17/2023 11:41 AMStart by unplugging things not in use. Just the transformer to charge a phone or computer use more energy than you might think. -
William Bechtel 4/16/2023 6:39 PMWhat a beautiful day to enjoy some sunshine! I went fishing and played disc golf a Codorus State Park. -
William Bechtel 4/14/2023 5:40 AMJust one more week. Keep up the good work everyone! -
William Bechtel 4/13/2023 8:17 AMI’m doing better at remembering to power down my computer. Saves energy when I do. -
