I think that I will continue to save that money, using half of it for necessities, like food, and the other half will go into my college fund.

I think honestly I'm already doing pretty good. It's also making me feel much better to participate.

Taking action is a really good way to feel better about any situation!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Personal Waste Audit
Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

    Connor Hall's avatar
    Connor Hall 4/04/2023 6:06 AM
It's difficult because today's society is more focused towards the spending of money and new things instead of the waste that buying these things implies. I think that when I experienced opening up the trash bag and really looking at all the things I have that I throw away or don't use, it really changed my perspective, and I'm becoming more conscious with if i really need something or if I'm just buying it to buy something.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

    Connor Hall's avatar
    Connor Hall 4/04/2023 6:03 AM
I think that just telling people that its more efficient for people to not struggle with staples is a good way, and its why I use two-sided printing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Father Thomas Berry says, "... our primary purpose is celebration. Celebration of the dawn and the sunset and the different seasons of the year is a religious ritual, a way in which humans can establish their integral relationship with the universe, with the planet Earth." What is your response to Berry's assertion?

    Connor Hall 4/04/2023 6:01 AM
I think that I can agree, people now don't really go out and see nature the way that they should, which is really disappointing. We all were created by nature, so we should respect it and spend time with it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Power Down the Computer
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

Another easy thing, which is something I personally do, is use a power strip, which actually helps a lot with saving power. Mine has 2 sections, which diverts power to what is necessary, and you can turn off power to things you aren't using to stop using power to something that isnt plugged in, for example a charger that isn't charging anything.
