Neil's actions
Health
Happiness
I will write down three things every day that I am grateful for, or send one email every day thanking or praising someone.
Food
Join a Local CSA
I will sign up for a local CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture).
Health
More Fruits and Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 2 cup(s) of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Food
Buy From a Farmers Market
I will purchase produce and meat from a local farmers market or food co-op.
Waste
No paper towels
I will not use paper towels. I will carry a bandana with me and use it to dry my hands in place of paper towels. At home I will use only cloth towels and cloth napkins - no paper.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Waste
Compost Food Waste
I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.
Health
Exercise Daily
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 45 minute(s) each day.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Food
Reduce Animal Products
I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 0 vegan meal(s) each day this week.
Health
Reduce refined sugar
I will keep track and reduce my consumption of refined sugars, including sweetened beverages, candy, and processed foods.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Neil Leary 4/07/2023 12:28 PMA tip for reducing use of paper towels. Keep a bandana with you wherever you go and use it to dry your hands instead of paper towels or electric dryers! They are also good as a blind fold when you need a quick power nap. -
Neil Leary 4/03/2023 5:37 AMSigned up for a CSA share with LEAF Project (sorry Jen!). They run an amazing youth leadership program that engages young people in farming and healthful practices. Plus, my son works there.
