I will say I'm taking credit for a bunch of work I did this weekend in cleaning and decluttering. As for preventing unnecessary consumption/accumulation, I've really benefitted from having a "wishlist." I have an ongoing list of items I find I want/need and their prices, and I wait before purchasing. I find it SO helpful in that 1. I find I didn't really want or need that product, or 2. my appreciation for that thing grows and when I finally do get it, I appreciate it far more.
