    In North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for using every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable (including the skins, tops, stalks, etc.) during your next meal prep?

    using all of the veggie in our food for our lizard or in our garden that way nothing goes to waste.

      We thrown old egg shells in our garden. I really do think it helps some of the plants grow!

    When you think about needs vs wants you are able to think how to repurpose something instead of just buying a replacement or purchasing replacement parts.

    Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

    We have researched how to can pickles and will be planting them this year for harvest. The pickling process seemed complicated at first but I think we can do it. It would be nice to have our own for the year.

    When you do not spend time outside you become very disconnected with people and nature. Being outside does bring a spiritual nature and clears you mind.

    I found that walking the trail and seeing all the nature around me cleared my mind and I was very refreshed when I went back to the car. I felt like I gave my brain the chance to relax.

    I planted a three tier planter for herbs that is sitting on the patio. We also have tomato's and cucumber that will go into pots for harvest.

    We have discussed going to the gym together in order to all get healthy. We want to instill healthy habits on our children. Eating right and exercise is part of that.
