How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

I walk in a neighborhood where the folks plan flowers and gardens in their yards; it is fun to see what is blooming on my walks during the summer.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more unnecessary things in the future?

    Sherri Venero's avatar
    Sherri Venero 4/05/2023 5:44 AM
I want to move into a tiny house so I keep that goal in mind as I am faced with purchasing opportunities.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health
What's your favorite activity(ies) in which you experience joy while being active and moving?

    Sherri Venero 4/05/2023 5:38 AM
Two things come to mind: wild mushroom foraging and canoeing in a quiet marsh.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health
How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

    Sherri Venero's avatar
    Sherri Venero 4/05/2023 5:37 AM
I like to walk in the woods every chance I get and I find that inviting a friend and bringing a picnic lunch make it a more rewarding experience.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Sherri Venero's avatar
    Sherri Venero 4/03/2023 8:54 AM
I won't personally save any money for this change, but I am glad to be making more conscious energy choices.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

It would be beneficial to redirect these funds to reduce food insecurity in our communities.
